Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center

The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center is the first museum in Russia, which collection is based not on the artefacts, but on interactive gadgets. This is one of the most modern museums not only in Russia, but also in the world. The history of the Jewish people — from creation to the present day — is told by means of interactive audio and video installations. The interactive exhibits are main highlights of the museum. In the 4D-cinema the water of the Flood is splashing and the wind of the desert is blowing; the square of the small town comes alive and the traditional music starts to play; the family is saying a prayer over the cup of wine and the city sounds with millions of voices. As soon as you touch the water surface, the old photographs replace your own reflection. This is a real time machine!

How to get there by walking

The nearest metro station is the Mariina Rosсha. The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center is within walking distance on the Obraztsova Street, 11, building 1A. A walk will take 10-15 minutes.

How to get there by public transport

The entrance to the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center is located on the side of Novosushchevsky Lane, where the Obraztsova Street Public Transport stops are located on both sides of the road: buses, trams, and minibuses connected with the Dostoyevskaya and the Novoslobodskaya metro stations stop here.
