The Museum of Cosmonautics (VDNH)
The Museum of Cosmonautics (Space Museum) is one of the largest scientific and technical museums in Russia. The Museum is located in the basement of the monument ‘To the Conquerors of Space’, built in 1964 to commemorate the launch of Sputnik. Museum exposition gives a retrospect on how Soviet space science evolved. It shows starting from first man-made satellites subsequently followed by the first manned space flight, first space walks, Moon exploration programs, Solar system exploration programs and international space research programs. You can see plenty of interesting things including space suits, food, models of ships and stations.
Please note!
The Museum was the most popular attraction among football fans who came to the World Cup 2018.
The trip to the Museum of Cosmonautics is best combined with the Mosquarium and the Historical park "Russia – my history". The museums are situated at one metro station "V.D.N.Ha.".?
