SAVIOR ON THE SPILLED BLOOD
The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood is among the world’s most famous landmarks. The church was erected by a decree of Emperor Alexander III on the site where his father, Emperor Alexander II, had been fatally wounded in a terrorist act on March 1st 1881. The church is 81 meters high, which corresponds to the year of Emperor Alexander II‘s death, while the second highest dome reaches 63 meters, which corresponds to the Emperor’s age at the me he was assassinated.
